The Chelsea Square projects involved the historic restoration of several, decrepit buildings. These buildings had been vacant and deteriorating for years. These were historic tax credit driven projects creating residential and commercial space throughout Chelsea Square.
The buildings were historically restored on their exteriors, and complete re-built on the inside. In many cases the wood structural systems were completely removed and replaced with a combination of wood and steel. This development provided needed rental housing, short term construction jobs, added to the tax base and helped to restore an important neighborhood in the city of Chelsea.
